    Peruvian mystery bird #2

Looks like a female Euphonia. I'm not familiar with Peruvian (my experience is mainly from Colombia and central america) birding but you should be able to narrow it down by locality and elevation.

    please review Napo/Amazonian Lodges

Hi all, I visited the Sani Lodge in Mid March and I have to say, if you dont care for high prices, this is an excellent option. The guiding is very good, I would not say superb, but very good. We spent three full birding days and I would strongly suggest spending another day or two. We had some...

Post here where and when you will be birding in Ecuador

Hi Guys, I went to Canande in mid march with a couple friends. The activity wasnt very high but we did see some great birds including the Golden-chested Tanager (on the like-wise named trail), Lita Woodpecker, Black-headed Antthrush, Great Jacamar and we heard Tawny-faced Quail. No sign of the...

    La Paz Waterfall Gardens

As Patrick so correctly mentioned, Tapanti is a good alternative to La Paz Waterfalls. While you won't get the hummer feeders, the overall birding is simply astounding. I have spent about 5 months in Costa Rica over the last three winters, and I consider it my favourite (along with Dos Brazos...

Looks good for Anna's to me too, note the red on the forehead. The colour can really vary depending on light. I recently saw an Anna's that at one angle the gorget looked a similiar colour to your bird and at another was the typical brilliant pink. Cheers,
