Rob Had 25+ ringed plover , 29 greenshank , 14 shoveller , 3 wheatear , 15 knot , osprey , dunlin , godwit , teal today plus all the usual suspects giving 42 species for the day on the estuary. 35 canada geese came in for a look around 4.50pm and then lifted again and headed in a general up... -

Little Egret Had a Little Egret today from the Guardbridge hide which lifted after 5 mins or so and headed off up the Eden , apparently only the 9th recorded sighting in Fife. Got 4 or 5 shots which I have posted on birdguides. Richard -

Despite trying not too I'm being drawn into the world of bird photography. What is recommended in terms of a good quality digital camera with good zoom facility without going to the length of changing lenses. I basically want to point and shoot outwith zooming in and out. Hi djnd2 , Glad you enjoyed it , the mergansers would be goosanders I suspect as there has been a regular half dozen or more for some weeks now. For me the 2 hrs before high tide are best and a close 2nd the two hrs after. Better not to hog Rob's thread , I'am in the hide regulalrly and follow... -

Eden Estuary Rob , There was a single osprey flew over the paper mill , over the hide and on up the Eden on Monday mid morning and 2 little ringed plovers were at the "puddle" in the pig field on the right just before Morton Lochs on Sunday late afternoon / early evening. Richard -

The WTE was seen high over the pine trees on the North side of the outhead mid afternoon on Wednesday 19th March and was last seen heading North. It was reportedly sighted around Morton Lochs at 7.00am the following morning. -
