    x32 SF

Rolling ball effect is very noticeable and annoying for me in 8x42 SF and Swarovski EL 8.5x42 and 8x32. However, 10x42 SF and 10x42 EL have much less rolling ball effect. On last week, I looked throuh a Swarovski EL 8x32 Field Pro, and I found very few RBE too. I saw this binocular so good in...

    Noctivid 10x42 vs Ultravid HD+ 10x50

HD+ yes, HD not. HD has the same CA as BR.

    Victory n x 32 SF

Nothing I would like more than a Zeiss SF 8x32 and a Leica Noctivid 8x32.

    Victory n x 32 SF

I have a Zeiss 7x42 FL binocular. It's an excellent binocular, with optical quality similar to Zeiss HT, Leica Ultravid HD+, Swarovski SLC and Nikon EDG. But one step below Zeiss SF, Swarovski EL and Leica Noctivid. I think SF 42 is so big and I don't like 8x rolling ball effect (10x is much...

    Which sub-alpha bino

Hello, speaking from my personal opinion and experience: -Top level (Alpha) binoculars:Swarovski EL, Zeiss Sf, Leica Noctivid. Someone may not like rolling ball effect, flare, ergonomics, size, ... , of some of them. But in my opininion, these 3 binoculars are the best available optics...

    Rolling ball effect - 8x , 8.5x and 10x

Yes, if I'd have to choose now between these binoculars, I'd buy HT or Ultravid HD+, instead FL. But for me it isn't an improvement enough to pay off the change. My choice: Swarovski EL, Zeiss SF and Leica Noctivid. But I can't stand pronounced rolling ball effect, so for the moment, Noctivid.

    Rolling ball effect - 8x , 8.5x and 10x

Hi James, I've tried it against Swarovision and Zeiss SF in 2 different days and stores. I liked more SV and SF than HT, even in center of field. 10x. Other day, I tried, in 2 different days and stores, 8x42 HT against my Zeiss FL. Similar optics.

    Rolling ball effect - 8x , 8.5x and 10x

Yes, I know Zeiss and Leica haven't any 32 nor 50 mm SF, Noctivid. But they should make them if they want compete with Swarovski. It happened the same when some people said Ultravid was the final Leica binocular to face SV and SF. Then, Noctivid came in. I'll replace my current binocular in a...

    Rolling ball effect - 8x , 8.5x and 10x

After trying and comparing all alpha binoculars, and several times each one, these are only 3 ones (6 ones) able to upgrade my Zeiss FL 7x42: -Swarovski SV 8x32, 8.5x42. -Zeiss SF 8x32, 8x42. -Leica Noctivid 8x32, 8x42. I like too Ultravid HD+ , but I preffer Noctivid. If Swarovski and Zeiss...

    Rolling ball effect - 8x , 8.5x and 10x

Hello, I´ve been using at the exit of several hunting and optical stores these binoculars: -Zeiss SF 8x42 and 10x42. -Swarovski SV 8x32, 8.5x42 and 10x42. I noticed rolling ball effect was much more pronounced in 8x and 8.5x than 10x, not matter if it was zeiss or Swarovski, 32 or 42 mm. I...

    x32 SF

When a Zeiss SF 8x32? Zeiss hasn't any 8x32 alpha binocular. And now they have just upgraded their 8x42 SF with several improvements. I think now it could be the time to deliver a 8x32 SF black binocular.

Hello chill6x6, how does SV 8x32 compare with HD+, SF and SV 8.5x42 about glare, flare control?

    When a new Leica binocular?

Leica has already copied an open bridge binocular. https://us.leica-camera.com/Sport-Optics/Leica-Hunting/Rangefinders/Leica-Geovid/Geovid-Details And that doen't mean they didn't the right thing, because they innovated other things in that binocular like pergen prisms and SD card inside...

    When a new Leica binocular?

No, I like: -Leica build quality and badges. -Swarovision body shape (except focuser, located like Zeiss SF). -Leica or Swarovision optics(sharpness, contrast, colours). And mixed Leica and Swarovision distorsion and rolling ball effect. -Zeiss field of view.

    When a new Leica binocular?

This is exactly what I mean, that Leica could have 2 alpha binoculars like Zeiss and Swarovski: 2 kind of hinge and optic design. For me, the binoculars more I like now are Ultravid HD+, Swarovision and Zeiss SF. So, I think Leica can make the best nature binocular whit a mixed of the best of...

    When a new Leica binocular?

I preffer Ultravid HD+ to SLC and HT optics and build quality, but it hasn't open hinge nor flat field design. I preffer edge distorsion to rolling ball effect, but a medium between them is what I mean, 75% of field sharpness, instead 50% like Not flat field design, nor 95% like some...

    When a new Leica binocular?

Ultravid HD+ is the latest alpha Leica binocular. It competes directly with Swarovski SLC HD and Zeiss HT, but Leica hasn't any binocular like Swarovision and Zeiss SF. I'd like the new Leica would be: -Ultravid build quality, magnesium and rubber. -Open hinge design. -Size as much like...

"Leica 7x42 Ultravid HD Plus" owners experience compared to non "Plus"

Comparing HD and HD+, I see a big optical difference, specially in CA. Ultravid HD is the same as non HD, and in my opinion, not at alpha CA level. In Ultravid HD+, whites are whiter and black is black, not dark grey. CA is like Zeiss FL. And the same about light trasmition, now Leica is at...

    Do you ignore Leica ?

Leica Ultravid HD is the same as old Leica Ultravid, regardless Leica noticed. I think it was only marketing. Yes, HD lens but they have similar CA. Those binocular aren't at level of Zeiss HT or SLC HD. That was the reason because I sold my Ultravid to buy a Zeiss FL. Leica Ultravid HD Plus is...

    Do you ignore Leica ?

    Docter Aspectem 40x80 ED

If optical quality is similar in both (even different wide field and correction to the edge), the questions to decide will be, as you have said: -Right or angled. -40X or 21X, 32X and 50X options. -3500 € or 5700 €. Thank you very much, Piergiovanni, your answers here and your comments at...
