    Thanks Dante & Nutcracker. Mandarin had been my thought when I first saw the bird, but I've not sen a bird as advanced as this in moult before and I wanted to rule out any hybrid duck options, or potential escapees. John

    Could anybody please help in IDing this bird seen in North Yorkshire today. The quality of the photos are poor being taken from a considerable distance on high zoom. Size of the duck appeared to be intermediate between teal and mallard. Thanks for any help, John

    Is anyone able to help me identify this bird taken two weeks ago at Ras Mohammed, near Sharm El Sheikh. My best guess would be 1st year hooded wheatear but I've no real confidence about the ID. Thank you for your help.
