    Nikon HG 10x42 L - should I buy?

I have an opportunity to buy the Nikon 10x42HGL in near mint condition and at a fairly good price. I know this is a fairly old model but looking at Albino's report it was an outstanding 5 star binocular in its day. Just curious as to whether this model still stands up on its own previous...

SLC range to be discontinued by Swarovski!

I've just heard from a very reputable source that Swarovski are to discontinue the SLC range of binoculars. Apparently, they will no longer be manufactured after existing stock has been sold. If so, I can only imagine this will come as a shock and disappointment to many. Clearly, this is in...

Detached collar on my Zeiss 8x42 HT

I've just noticed that the collar containing the serial number on my Zeiss 8x42 HT's has come detached (see image attached). Looks like the superglue or resin that they use has dried out. Binoculars are 2 and 1/2 years old and within warranty. Have to say I'm a bit surprised and disappointed...

    Habicht 10x40 WGA Objective Covers

Seeking a bit of advice on protective objective covers I'm currently considering a pair of Habicht 10x40 WGA binoculars but I believe Swarovski don't provide objective covers with these models? Correct? I maybe dream't it but I'm sure I seen somewhere on a previous BF thread some Habicht wga's...

Digiscoping with Swarovski ATX85, 20-60mm lens and Fuji X100T

Looking for some advice on my digiscoping set-up. Currently have Swaro ATX 85mm with 20-60mm and TLS APO lens adapter which I used with my old Canon 40D. I now wish to use my Fuji X100T 23mm fixed lens mirrorless camera on this scope but am unsure of what adapters I require. Swaro site seems a...

    RSPB throw out Alpha binoculars

It appears that the RSPB have discontinued offering all top binocular brands from their website this week. Gone are Zeiss, Leica and Swarovski. The explanation (fluffy) appears to be they have had issues with fraud (whatever that means) and they can only be bought through the branch shops...

Leica eye relief ..... or lack of it!!

Hello all, Just spent yesterday morning testing 8x32 Swaro SV's, Zeiss FL's and lastly the Leica Ultravids and Trinovids. Very nice to be able to view them side by side over open farmland and pasture. Without excessive havering, which seems a proper sport on here, I have to say how...

    10x32 advice

Hello fellow optic geeks, I am in need of some professional advice.😀 I'm currently using the classic Nikon 8x32SE's and contemplating the purchase of a 10x32 bin without bursting the bank. The Zeiss FL 10x32 sound great, albeit expensive, but I'm curious how these compare optically with the...

    8x32 advice needed

Hi there, I've just come in from looking at about 40 waxwings and have decided that I do need to invest in some proper bins this year. I'm fairly sure that 8x32's will suit my needs but question of all questions is ...which one??! The EL swaro's are obviously great but forking out that sort...
