    I use the Robbins/Zim/Bruun Birds of North America more than any other guide (and as field biologists and teachers we have a 5-foot shelf of them!). Partly, I imagine, because it's the one I started with, and the pictures have ALWAYS been easier for me to match with a bird than any other guide...
