    Call - Andalusia

Hearing this call off the patio last couple of evenings. Usually two separate birds, either side of the villa calling at the same time. No views of the bird. Managed to record one of them. I’m assuming a warbler distress call. Any ideas? Thanks Michael.

    Ducks, Florida, Feb 2018

I've been going through last years photos from Lake Toho in Florida taken in February and came across these. I'm thinking Ring-necked Duck or Greater Scaup (the lattter I realise would be quite uncommon especially inland). Any comments would be welcome. Thanks Michael

    Sri Lanka Raptors

Struggling with raptors in Sri Lanka. Two separate birds, first over Dambulla, second over Kandy. Thinking Oriental Honey-buzzard for both, due to pigeon like head. But is this likely due to their rarity? Thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Michael

    ? Aythya hybrid. Notts, UK

Found this duck which I assume to be some sort of aythya hybrid in the feeder stream of Kings Mill Reservoir this afternoon. Appeared quite tame, associating with group of mallards. Any ideas? I’ve left the mallard in the shot for size comparison. Thanks Michael

    Wader. Lincs. UK

Going through some shots of spotted redshank taken at Frampton Marsh in early September I noticed this warder in the background. Very blurred long-billed dowitcher? Ideas appreciated. Thanks Michael

    Vilamoura Portugal

Flock of about 10 of these seen. Photos taken yesterday and today so I assume that they are the same birds. Thought at first that they may be juvenile waxbills but not sure now I've seen them in better light. Any ideas? I'm unable to post more than one shot so choose the closest. Thanks Michael

    ?meadow pipit North Yorks

Pipit seen on Staithes cliff top last weekend. Long hind claw noted, but would the supercillum normally be this obvious? Any comments please? Sorry about the rubbish quality, was on the limit of focus and have been heavily cropped. Thanks Michael

    Greetings from Linconshire

Hi I have been at this game for about 18 months now, after a holiday in Budle Bay, Northumbria (you can't ignore them when your garden is full of wheatears), although I have had a passing interest for the past 30 years or so gained whilst fishing. But with two children under 4 years it is a bit...
