    The Goshawk in action

    Anyone see last weeks episode of an Animals guide to Britain [Tuesday?] Brilliant shots of the Goshawk!! Spectacular bird or what?? Just amazing that it can whiz through the trees at 50kph. I was surprised Chris Packham didn't mention it's running prowess. See it on iPlayer...

    Tonight in Accony, Co. Mayo

    After getting some shots of a Corncrake, as I returned home I heard the Corncrake, a Grasshopper Warbler and a Cuckoo all at the same time. All in all a pretty special evening with a Meadow Pipit and a Blue Tit joining the list for the night. :t::t::t:

    Gotcha!!

    Not the best photo ever but the camera has it's limitations, but not as many as me!! Taken this evening near Accony in Co. Mayo. Saw him fly in and from various spots until he popped up in front of me. I didn't realise they call when in flight!!

    Corncrake last night

    Heard Corncrake tonight! Much closer tonight and very persistent. I've seen a couple in previous years and I'd love to get a photo but they certainly are difficult to spot. Watch this space!!

    Co. Mayo

    Anyone active in Co. Mayo? We have Wheatears, Meadow Pipits, pied and grey wagtails in our garden at present. We are in the Louisburgh area. Also Corncrakes are in the near vicinity and can be heard most late evenings and through the night. There were many Gannets around in May but seem to...
