Willow or Marsh Tit, Lincolnshire UK?

What Colin said together with two-toned cheek and an apparent pale spot at the base of the upper mandible makes this a clear Marsh Tit.

    Redshank bill?

I think most of the bill has the same colour as the mud on the feet. ;-)
  3. O

    Dunlin? May, Odiel Marshes, Spain

    Looks like a Redshank.
  4. O

Confirm Mistle Thrush please - London UK

Sure is as you think Chris. :-)
  5. O

    Plover for ID - Romania

    Ringed it is.
  6. O

    palustris Vs montanus

Definitely palustris. For example note pale spot at the base of upper mandible, two toned cheek, no apparent wing panel, general colour.

    ID Help, Harrier Cyprus

Agree! You can actually even see five fingers.
  8. O

    ID Please - Romania

    It's a Water Pipit.

    Diving ducks, NL, Canada

Sorry, sloppy look there. It does look suspicious. I don't think it is a tuftie but rather some hybrid then. Hm!
  10. O

    Diving ducks, NL, Canada

    It's a Ring-necked Steve.
  11. O

    Petrel sp. Madeira

yes, I understand that you meant that. Just wanted to make it clear enough. :t:
  12. O

    Petrel sp. Madeira

To be clear. madeira and feae (and desertas from feae by some?) are split from mollis. mollis is highly unprobable in the Atlantic why it is almost certainly one of the above species.
  13. O

    Petrel sp. Madeira

feae/desertas/madeira. Won't get closer than that from this photo. Sorry! :-)

    Scotland, Warblers IDs

    Indeed!
  15. O

    Scotland, Warblers IDs

Well, to be honest it is probably hard to say for certain wether 3 & 4 (same bird?) is a WW or a Chiffchaff.
  16. O

    Scotland, Warblers IDs

The last one would be the one looking like a Sedge. The first four Willow.
  17. O

    Bunting ?

I really don't think we can say that for sure. Such a pale bird, seemingly pure white underneath, may well be a hybrid.
  18. O

    Bunting ?

Probably impossible to say if it's a pure very pale Yellowhammer or a hybrid but pure Pine should be ruled out by those primaries.
  19. O

Pine bunting or yellowhammer? - Verona, Italy

    Sorry! Then we agree.
  20. O

Pine bunting or yellowhammer? - Verona, Italy

I think that coverts looking like your Yellowhammers indeed rule out Pine but coverts like your Pine Buntings don't safely rule out pale Yellowhammers. ;-)
  21. O

Pine bunting or yellowhammer? - Verona, Italy

Easier to see yes, but is it very useful when distinguishing between Pine Bunting and Yellowhammer?
  22. O

Pine bunting or yellowhammer? - Verona, Italy

Impossible to say for certain from these pictures even though it well could be a Pine Bunting. Jane, what do you mean with the median coverts? Or did you mean lesser?

Query stripey Chiffy - Red Sea Egypt

Looks like a Willow Warbler to me. Not the best pics to judge wing length on but looks good enough. Everything else points to WW (legs, bill and overall colour).
  24. O

    Which Skua?

I agree that the second bird looks like a Pom but what makes the first one? Looks good for an Arctic to me.
  25. O

    Sparrowhawk or Goshawk? UK

    It's a Sparrowhawk.
