    Mid May to late May,a few could be encountered around Hartlepool headland along with Purple Sand,it was a species you expected on the May bird race

    nail on the head,first summer birds why should they head north probs lot spend time in ?,failed breeders returning early,would they not be in pristine plumage in early July ? Turnstone is one of the best looking waders to grace our shores IMO /
