    Autumnwatch 2013 Returns 29th October

I honestly did not know what I had written if I did I would have found a larger wader to fill massive slot lol

    Autumnwatch 2013 Returns 29th October

Foxes, Otter, Deer Ruts, Peregrines (but not this year) and Badgers get a lot of coverage. The waders should have had a massive slot not a little stint considering they talk of how important Morecambe mud is!

    Autumnwatch 2013 Returns 29th October

There is a budget but it is badly used I feel. They do not need 3 presenters and then those guest roles. Why do they need Nick, Chris, Michaela and Martin, not to forget Iolo? The problem with too many presenters is that they do end up losing the plot a bit and discussing other non-related...

    Autumnwatch 2013 Returns 29th October

You could not go wrong with Leighton Moss but sadly they did. They rushed the migration and I cant even remember much about it. Martin shouting in the reed beds was enough to scare away the wildlife.

    Autumnwatch 2013 Returns 29th October

I went to Leighton Moss yesterday and it was quite busy however I was told by volunteers that records were broken on Sunday just gone in terms of visitors. C combination of a beautiful place which surprisingly not every in Lancashire knows about, a nice day and BBC coverage. Stay away from the...

    Autumnwatch 2013 Returns 29th October

They need to start filming from October ie when autumn starts. The filming live in the dark is pointless that is for sure. Have Glossy Ibis really started to breed in Britain or was it a mistake from Chris?

    Autumnwatch 2013 Returns 29th October

The new format does not help at all. Autumn is about change and I remember one series possibly in 2011 when the first one or two programmes were like sunny summer days and at the end snow in Scotland. It gave them the opportunity to show change and film anything new at the location...

    Autumnwatch 2013 Returns 29th October

I normally watch any of these series twice but this time I have only managed it once and dont have a strong desire to watch each programme 2 times now. i have learnt from it and there will always be good stuff in there however, I had high expectations of this one yet it failed to live up...

    Autumnwatch 2013 Returns 29th October

After watching 3 programmes I think that something is missing. The series is not as striking as I hoped. They are much too late with the bird migration theme . it cannot be done in 4 days non-stop. There have been Long-tailed Duck and Glossy Ibis over the last 5-6 days. I feel they have...

    Autumnwatch 2013 Returns 29th October

Programme 1 was good. I can back Packham's word...the orange drizzle cake is really historic but so is the date and walnut. I cant get a feel of the reserve and the expanse of it. Maybe they will show that in another programme. The way they talked about the badgers as if they do transmit...

    Autumnwatch 2013 Returns 29th October

I did have a talk with a regular visitor at Leighton Moss this week and asked what they could show and he said:- 1. Otters - although I feel they are done to death in this series. 2. Peregrines at Warton Crag - another species which has got more coverage than so many others out there. 3...

    Autumnwatch 2013 Returns 29th October

Only problem is Leighton Moss is quite mild in winter but if they wanted snow the Lake District is very close although it does not have as spectacular wildlife as the Scottish mountains.

    Autumnwatch 2013 Returns 29th October

Brilliant....Leighton Moss......I hope they visit Gait Barrows, Foulshaw Moss, Warton Crag and even a trip into the Forest of Bowland. Where else could they visit? Will they be back in winter? This is my flickr set dedicated to Leighton Moss:-...
