    The centre of balance of the bare lens is to the front of the lens but it should be as your camera will tilt it towards the rear, by how much will depend on the weight of your camera.

    If you're not getting better results than the Sigma 50-500 OS then you have got a problem with the lens. I've used the 50-500 OS which I borrowed off my brother and I've used the non-OS for 7 or 8 years and it walks all over both.
