    Grey-headed Woodpeckers in Rhineland

    During autumn most of the interesting birds at Wahner Heide will already be gone. You could get lucky with the GHW or some migrants (depending on when in autumn you will be there) but species won’t be much different from anywhere else in Germany (or in Belgium)

    Grey-headed Woodpeckers in Rhineland

    There is one in the Wahner Heide next to Cologne Airport but it’s a single bird in quite large area and while it was very reliable seen for a weeks in May it seems to have moved to another part of the area where there have been just a few sightings. There are probably more reliable locations...
