    Not 100% sure, both species are extremely territorial possibly the the two fighting magpies infringed on the blackbirds territory and the blackbird wanted to try and scare them off. Female blackbirds tend to becomes less territorial during the autumn and winter but the males seem to continue...

    Not a common crow, it's a male blackbird. A dark thrush, with an orange bill and a yellow orbital ring- crows are much larger, similarly sized to a magpie but slightly more bulky- full black with a dark bulky bill.
