    There won't be any more waxwings to be seen again at James Hargreaves carpark in Burnley. The row of trees that they were feeding on a few weeks ago have been dug out! Sandra

    c45 waxwings on the berry trees at the far side of James Hargreaves' carpark opp bottom Towneley gates, Burnley. A mistle thrush was guarding the trees so the waxwings would fly off into trees near Britannia Inn (?) intermittently. We saw them 11.00ish yet half an hour later our son didn't...

    Sorry Pat - wasn't clear in my post that it was my son who saw the beaver, not me. But it was in a small enclosure to segregate it from the 'bullies' in the stream. And - let's face it - these are 'captive' beavers after all. Sandra

    Monday 10th Martin Mere. My son said 4 long-staying whooper swans there . Saw the baby beaver which has been separated from the others; Asian otters in a small enclosure; 2 big rats near bird feeders; a mouse. Sandra

    Roughly what time do the main flocks of geese come in to roost Floyd? Much before dusk? I have a weeks holiday so could go to Martin Mere later in the day for a change - usually we go first thing. Sandra
