Which ones are your dream binoculars?

Also a really wide 20mm eyepiece is large, whereas a similar 15mm eyepiece is rather small. A wide angle 25mm eyepiece is really large. My 38mm 75 degree Kodak eyepiece needs a 3 inch eyepiece holder on my telescope. With a 10x32 binocular, a 120mm fl objective needs a 12mm eyepiece, which...

Which ones are your dream binoculars?

But the same prism size usually means the 8x32 has a larger AFOV than the 8x42. B.

Which ones are your dream binoculars?

#66. 8x32 120mm fl objectives eyepieces 15mm fl. 8x42 160mm fl objectives eyepieces 20mm fl. For same diameter field lens, the 15mm eyepiece has a wider field and shorter eye relief. Simple. Regards, B.

Which ones are your dream binoculars?

An 8x32 has eyepieces of shorter focal length than 8x42s, so the eyepieces are generally smaller. This is because the objective focal lengths are smaller. For the same size prisms, the 8x32 FOVs are larger. B.

Which ones are your dream binoculars?

The Beechers Mirage binoculars are light weight and worn as glasses. They use mirrors instead of prisms and have fairly wide fields. Expensive, and sold usually as low vision aids. I have been on the train across northern Sweden, I think to Kiruna. B.

Which ones are your dream binoculars?

Swedpat, I have the Bushnell 5x25 but it is actually about 4.4x It is quite good. I use the Dowling and Rowe/Libra 4x22 a lot. The measured field is 16.3 or 16.5 degrees. It is cheap and quite good. Avoid the fixed focus one. The independent eyepiece focus one is better, and one rarely needs...

Which ones are your dream binoculars?

As to the original post. My Foton 5x25 has superb resolution despite probably having no phase coating etc. It has an oversize 30mm objective stopped down internally. It may be that the longer focal length and very high quality optics help. When I need a 12 degree plus field I use the Foton and...

Which ones are your dream binoculars?

Actually it is the Canon 730HS. When I try to read small print at a distance with the Canon 18x50 IS with 20/15 eyesight I can't read it. When I take a photo or look at the camera screen at 40x optical zoom I can easily read it. The same applies to detail on a chimney pot at 124 metres or a...

Which ones are your dream binoculars?

The resolution is superior in the pocket camera than with the 18x50 IS. I have no trouble following and taking photos of aircraft although birds are less predictable. The only way the binocular is superior is that it has superb glare control nearly into the sun, whereas the camera loses...
