    I agree, surely Mr Scott himself ought to have known the name of his wife ... (as in his OD of "Cistothorus marianæ, sp. nov. MARIAN’S MARSH WREN") I´d go for Marian ...

    Quick one ... In a Death note for "William E. D. Scott", in the New-York Daily Tribune, for Wednesday, August 24, 1910, on p.7 (here), we find the following phrase regarding the woman/wife behind "Marian's Marsh Wren": ... that might be of some help finding her (in full), who knows? Good luck...
