    I was referring magnifications bigger than 96x. Allthough 96x already is too much on many normal birding times, mainly early mornings. On bright daytime 96x is very usable, allthough other factors may then have stronger negative effect, mainly heat haze etc. Still it will be quite dim, of course...

    Well, this is the best I can do at the moment: I think this sample of 883 could handle even more than 96x when viewing bright objects like the moon, not so sure of terrestrial viewing because image will get so dim. Juhani

    I think magnification should be about 65x (scope focal lenght 510mm: eyepiece focal lenght 12.5mm) x1.6 = 65.28 I also slightly zoomed the camera in with this one. Juhani
