    A standardized digiscoping resolution test

Mark, It looks like your setup is working fine. I hope you are satisfied. Would you mind uploading your images to your post as per instructions in the second post. It will be easier for all. Thanks Jules

    A standardized digiscoping resolution test

The target prints easily if you follow the instructions and have a decent home inkjet printer. Looking at the target I printed with a loupe, I get perfectly clean lines. I also have offered to send targets for 5$. Sorry, can't do more.

    A standardized digiscoping resolution test

We've gone through these arguments before. Bear in mind that this test is not a scientific test but a practical one. Paul and I were looking for a meaningful test to optimize a bird digiscoping setup. Successful bird digiscoping is a condition of 2 factors: sharpness of the photograph to...

    A standardized digiscoping resolution test

With all due respect I think you are wrong. The "Effective Resolution" percentage is a factor of the observed resolution on the photograph and the distance. The higher the percentage, the better is the performance of the setup. Not very scientific I agree, but quite simple and effective...

    A standardized digiscoping resolution test

It is not only the camera and the scope that are tested. It is the complete setup - Camera, scope, other magnifying devices like TCs and barlows, spacers, etc.

    A standardized digiscoping resolution test

At last, here is a test ! Sorry for the delay but I have been quite busy lately and when it would have been possible to test, the wx was not appropriate... and 1000 other good (and not so good) reasons. For this first test, I worked with 3 different configurations: Scope alone Scope and 1.4X...

    A standardized digiscoping resolution test

Derry, Paul and I have extensivery tested the chart and this one seems to be the best we have published so far. We both can resolve the smallest lines easily. Make sure you are using good quality high resolution or photo paper and that you set your printer for high res printing with that...

    A standardized digiscoping resolution test

Digiscoping resolution test protocol V. 4.2 (Revised 08.08.26) PLEASE FOLLOW EXACTLY ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THIS PROTOCOL AND DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING. We won’t be able to compare meaningfully if ALL don’t use the EXACT same settings. 1- Print the target a- The file containing the target in...

    A standardized digiscoping resolution test

Digiscoping resolution test V. 4.2 This is the fourth version of this test. It has been developed to test different digiscoping setups and compare the results in a meaningful way. This should allow us to evaluate different components for digiscoping use and to find the best way to use them...
