    I use 2mm sailing cordage. It will go through the mount no problem.

    The supplied strap is fine. The binoculars weigh next to nothing. I don't use a neck strap at all. I carry them in my pocket, or in use I just hold them in my hand. I have a home made wriststrap I use for safety sake or to let them dangle if I need to use both hands to open a gate or something...
