Swarovski must have fixed the glare issues in the SV 8x32.

Hi Henry To me, in my experience, the sun near the field edge is the factor that produces the worst veiling glare I know. I am not talking about those internal reflections of parts Torview showed in post #85. I mean that "milky" veil, very conspicuous and unmistakable, in not well baffled...

Swarovski must have fixed the glare issues in the SV 8x32.

Denco, I made a "test" with my HT 10x42 vs a Noctivid 10x42, looking almost directly to the sun at the edge of a building. A really bad light situation, very like a sunset/sunrise. Well I couldnt see almost NOTHING with the HT because of that "milky" veil. The view with the Noctivid was almost...

Swarovski must have fixed the glare issues in the SV 8x32.

Hi, I agree, in toto, what MandoBear wrote! I use my binocs very often, in the field, not only for birds. I work in Range Management in Patagonia and use my optics almost daily. At down and dusk with the sun near the horizon, this veiling glare thing is, or can be, very serious! I make mine...

Swarovski must have fixed the glare issues in the SV 8x32.

Hi adhoc, I know this is the Swarovski forum. Sorry to not refer to a Swarovski binocular. But, as the veiling glare is the issue, I only wanted to put it clear. To me, Flare and Veiling Glare as well, is more an objective than subjective matter. I don't see why some people can see them and...

Swarovski must have fixed the glare issues in the SV 8x32.

Hi, To see the veiling glare is not needed to be a Hidden Science Expert!!!! It can be seen, clearly, looking toward the sun, not directly but at a very close angle. In that circumstances the viewing in almost all binoculars, Alpha ones, I know, get a "milky" glare, veiling glare that reduces...
