    Fuji F30 - more thoughts

Hello Mike, Your post got me thinking and I quickly had another look at the F30's manual. I have to admit I got things mixed up a bit. The Auto mode selects the ISO for you, but I had thought that setting it manually myself would override this. It seems it won't, whoops! However, when I...

    Fuji F30 - more thoughts

Hi Paul. There was certainly plenty going on in front of the hide. Pitty the light conditions let us down a bit. I'm not sure whether I will be able to get across for the Birdfair. Work is a bit manic at the minute and I don't know whether I'll have to work that weekend. Cheers, Richard.

    Fuji F30 - more thoughts

First chance of a trip out today with the F30 and the new adapter. All images captured on Automatic mode, ISO 100 and Macro focusing. The day was pretty dull, so i'm quite pleased with these. Will post more when I've got the chance. Richard.

Thanks, Robert. I am pleased with them really but I always think I could do better, particularly when I look at some of the images posted earlier in this thread. Now they are truly spectacular. Richard

    Fuji F30 - more thoughts

Hi Sean, I used Evo-Stik Impact adhesive but I would imagine Dunlop Thixofix or even standard Araldite would do. I only really went for the contact stuff because I couldn't wait for the normal stuff to cure! Still it saves you from having to clamp everything in place. I used an engineering...

    Fuji F30 - more thoughts

Thanks for the kind words, gentlemen. Of course the proof of the pudding will be in the eating, so when I've had chance to use the new set up, I'll post some images and see whether you all think the adapter works ok. In the meantime, the three below were taken with my F401 and the old adapter...

    Fuji F30 - more thoughts

Hello Sean, Day off today, so out into the garage to make the adapter. I think the simple approach is best. As long as the camera is held reasonably steadily in front of the scope lens then the adapter should suffice. The three photos are raw materials, finished adapter and how it all fits...

    Fuji F30 - more thoughts

Hello Forcreeks, You have some splendid images there and obviously a love for ducks! I have taken the plunge and await delivery of my F30. Once I have fabricated an adapter and had a few trips out, I will post some photos and comments. I may even try to haul myself into a more scientific...

    Fuji F30 - more thoughts

Neil, Thanks for the speedy response. Yes, your comments have helped. The view through my current scope, as far as the Mk 1 eyeball is concerned, is not bad at all and I would be happy for my images to replicate this. However, I am aware a camera will see and record what is viewed differently...

    Fuji F30 - more thoughts

Hello Neil, You will probably think this a daft question. How would the Fuji F30 hold up with a scope that is not as expensive as a Swarovski. I am currently using an Opticron ES80 (not the high definition one) and am struggling with a Fuji 401. Yes, I know the camera is almost "steam driven"...
