    AF is fine on the 5D3 in my experience, better than other lenses I have used in the past on the 7D (400/5.6 and 300/2.8 + 2x tc ....) but then again the AF on the 5D3 is a lot better than the 7D anyway IMHO.

    The 5D3 has 4 MP more than the 7D and so would allow for a bit of extra cropping but not enough to get you to the same 'reach' as a 1.6 cropper. Having shot both Cameras there is no doubt that the AF on the 5D3 is far better/consistent than the 7D although the FPS is slower of course. Also the...
