I have not had it, but finally got one into my hands. And it confirmed my original impression that it was a camera too large for me these days. So I'm still sticking to my personal compromise: sacrifice some image quality in some cases, but having a camera that I really have with me. -

Ken, before you do anything with your present SD card, why not simply get a new one and see whether things work there without problems. That will take the pressure off from dealing with your present card and thus helps keeping your head clear. -

I had also been convinced that I'd get larger magnification when getting closer at less zoom. But trying it now, it's also about that 1m limit. At no zoom, one gets much closer but ends up with less magnification. Maybe it was different with earlier FZ models, but while I still have some around... -

Looks like the bird moved its head just a little while you took the picture. The rest is again excellently sharp, and I like the composition. When you say you now have a 32x magnification, does that mean at full resolution, or do you reduce to 8 MP or whatever for that? Finally, would you mind... -

Very fine shots, also the birds. But I particularly like the close-ups. Did you sharpen the pictures with a particular program, or simply reduce for posting? As for minimal distance. You say you can't get equally close as with the FZ150. I agree that this will reduce the scare factor. but do... -

I find it impossible to judge the image quality with the posted resolution. On the Stonechat, there were over 1200 pixels. That did allow a decent evaluation. I think for such comparisons, 1200 to 1400 pixels are necessary. -

Fine Starling picture. But regarding the camera's function, I think that is far from normal. Keep any eye on this, and make sure you don't miss complaining while it's still covered by warranty. I had imported several earlier models from the US, and returning them then would have been costly, though. -

Thanks for this link. Looks like Sony has a decided edge regarding picture quality! A bit disappointing for a Leica lens. Or is the difference creeping in at the processing level as indicated by the noise in the ISO 3200 comparison?
