I couldn't imagine there being any reason for a decrease in image qualtiy between the 80 and 100, I am probably mistaken but I basically just go by the rule, "bigger diameter, more light" If someone with more technical information comes along they should answer this question confidently.

Taken today at Llanishen reservoir. Shutter speeds 1/782 for both Aperture 3.7 Regal with 17mm EP and Nikon p5100 video to show how a camera attaches to the baader http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOcHeOF1qPg&feature=plcp and a video showing my digiscoping kit...

I think you will have a lot of problems getting the Canon SX30IS to work....im not saying it wont but the general rule is to have a camera with a 3-4x optical zoom and have the lens around enough the same size of the eypiece of the scope. I have owned a Celestron Ultima ED in the past aswell as...

I am still using the Jackar > Baader 17mm eyepiece thread. At first I did have problems with vignetting at certain zoom levels but with the adaptor I have it allows me to extend the camera away from the eyepiece with a reverse lock ring, it took me a while to find the perfect distance but now...

I tried testing the P5100 in the garden today, hmm didn't go exactly as planned the birds go preoccupied with an unwelcome visitor who scared them into a tree with the most horrendous of lighting so I took a pic of the culprit instead just to see a sample of image quality. I will take it out on...

Any kind of camera test would be great since this is not a universally well used scope for digiscoping I am pretty sure people would appreciate how any camera functions with the Celestron Regal series :t:

Nikon P5100, Regal 80 F-ED and Baader EP Just got this camera, used in program mode and here is a sample shot of a beanie lizard and a 100% because you people like that stuff. Only a small amount of vignetting appeared at zero zoom, a tiny flick of the zoom button got rid of this.

It has been a few months now. If anyone else has got anymore Celestron Regal and camera combinations they could get sample pictures of that would be great. Will be investing in a new camera soon and I don't want to make the same mistake I did last time and get a camera that didn't work with my...

Could you tell me how much vignetting you get with your camera when you get all the things you need? I am looking to upgrade my camera but since hardly anyone uses the scope I havent made the move :-O

I have got just the thing! I would get a Jackar Universal Adapter I have one myself and use it with the Baader 17MM eyepiece the only other thing you would need is a 37mm-43mm stepping ring to attach the two together. Pretty sure thats right :-O

Nice shots everyone, keep them coming so people get an all round opinion on the Regals performance. Listing what camera and such is being used has is also very helpful. Again Regal 80, Baader 17MM EP and Panasonic ls75

It comes with a carry case but even that has to be taken off if you want to use it and as far as I know there is no stay on case sold for the Celestron scopes. I have dropped mine a few times and it feels like a pretty sturdy scope. Also Celestron offer warranty (lifetime in the US) not sure how...

I have totally forgotten how stiff the coarse focus knob was when I first got it but it couldn't have been that bad if I stuck with it but I will probably say that it gets looser over time since now I am able to use the coarse focus only using my pinky with ease :king:

I'm finding the eyepiece great! Compared to the supplied eyepiece the biggest advantage is the zero vignetting, this gives me total freedom over how camera zoom I would like to supply (I often seldom use the zoom anyway). Focusing is no issue and neither is weight or size. So far I havent found...

    Celestron F-ED Pics

Got a baader Hyperion 17mm eyepiece. The good news is I get zero vignetting from no zoom to full zoom, the bad news is it has gone away for xmas so I only had time for one comparison shot....at evening....in low light. I can't see significant improvement over detail but with no vignetting can...

Yep it is the standard 20x60 eyepiece and always at 20x I never have used the zoom and the camera I am using as of late (the blue tit and coal tit pictures are taken with this camera) is the Panasonic DMC LS60 quite hard to get a hold of now but there are usually some around ebay its a cracker...
