OK Robert, I see what you mean and yes the more curvy FL32 with its chunky armour was very different. Lee

Well spotted Dave, I agree. Lee

You can but take care: the pic looks as though it was taken with a wide-angle lens and these lenses tend to exaggerate anything closer to the lens so it this case I think the SF42 eyecups look a bit bigger than they actually are. Lee

Robert I am struggling to see a resemblance as the SF has 3 bridges, not two, and the focus wheel is located between two of those bridges instead of being perched up on top, the armour looks different etc etc. Lee

Hi Andy Take a look at this video. It features 3 people with SF32s and none of them is wearing spectacles so all of them have eyecups extended. The still pic at at the beginning before you launch the video gives the best view of SF32 with extended eyecups...

And don't forget body parts. Any old bits you don't use could be highly saleable. Lee

OMG that's terrible. And it looks so unnatural! ;) Lee

I like to see the full range of colours through my binos that I see with my naked eyes, which is why I enjoy several models of binos, including my SF42s. Lee

Canip, behave yourself. You are Swiss and supposed to remain neutral and not shoot anybody. Where is the United Nations when you need them?? :-O Lee

I hear what you say Edmund and I believe you. I have around 200 hours field experience with SF 42s and can report the following: The grey limestone causses and cliffs near Minerve in the Languedoc look as grey through the SFs as they do with the naked eye. The red grasses of the Isle of Islay...

What can I say? I have never seen this cast in any Zeiss binos. And it seems Tobias is saying that the pure white sands of the Western Isles only look white because my brain makes a correction. Well, if my brain makes this correction and white sands appear white to me, then I think I will not...

I have an early grey SF 10x42 and black SF 8x42 and have used both on the almost bare limestone causses of Southern France and never saw any green cast. Neither have I seen it on the huge white shell-sand beaches of the Western Isles of Scotland. I am not trying to tell you that you didn't see...

It looked neutral to me but I have never seen a green cast in any SF42. And I would really need to use the bino on many different days in different habitats with different light, to be confident about this. A full review would be needed. Lee

Hi Robert, Actually the photo was taken by me and yes I made sure the eyecups were retracted to allow for a proper comparison. It might be the 32 is exaggerated in size a little due to the wide angle lens I used. Lee

First Impressions After many false predictions and nods and winks for several years, at long last the rumoured and almost mythical SF 32 has surfaced. After a brief try-out I have to say I was wrong about one fundamental. I have expressed doubts more than once that the kind of balance...

LOL I thought that would wake you up. But CJ, you invoke Gods and the Devil in your post so I suppose HG must stand for Her Godliness..... Shame about the T20 Ladies cricket wash-out but well done Australia for getting through to the final. Lee
