Are the Swarovski NL 8x32s the best birding binoculars?

I haven't tried NLs but I am sure they are excellent instruments. When you say they are maybe in 'the top three' if you measure it 'by stats', do you mean it's specifications (i.e fov, close focus), or what you imagine it's sales figures are like? Notice how I was inspired by your example and...

Was 'exiting' a mistake (and you intended 'exciting') or was it a sideways remark about our crazy politics over here? I) Truss was PM, then exits, 2) Boris comes back from holiday, then exits the race etc etc Lee

Are the Swarovski NL 8x32s the best birding binoculars?

I guess 'pike' here is short for 'turnpike' meaning a road........ over here in the old country, taking a 'pike' at something means having a quick surruptitious look at it. Just sayin' :) Lee

I wasn't referring to SE and neither were you when you put SF and NL together as top of the tree optics. Although you do change your mind quite often I don't think you would have changed it between your Post 88 (in which you say SF and NL are the best) and your Post 92 ( in which you only...

Are the Swarovski NL 8x32s the best birding binoculars?

Its a shame that you don't do this Dennis. There is more to nature than just birds, and being someone who wants full value for money, using binoculars to examine subjects whether they are close or far away simply means getting more value from your binos. Lee

Slow down pal. Its not that I want a smaller fov. Its that I value the Leica's other attributes such as the close focus capability and its colours. And of course I have SF8x32 and can choose that huge panoramic fov whenever I wish. Lee

Hi Dennis, as you know I have both SF8x32 (and 10x32) and also a Leica Trinovid HD 8x32 and usually take both of these on our expeditions to Scotland and choose which one to take out each day. Some folks may well prefer the Leica for its colours, which have been referred to on here countless...
