Yes depth of field. For and aft of an object that is perfectly in focus.

Is the 8x32 Victory SF really worth almost 2.5x the cost of the 8x32 Conquest HD?

Didn’t seem to matter what distance either. Object for and aft at short distances were not in focus

Is the 8x32 Victory SF really worth almost 2.5x the cost of the 8x32 Conquest HD?

Sorry. Have had 3 pairs of Conquest. Made sure they were Absolutely in focus. Then looked at objects 2 or 3 feet in front And behind that were Not in focus. Have had Faster focusing binos that didn’t have that problem. Hard to believe Zeiss QC would release three defective copies.

Is the 8x32 Victory SF really worth almost 2.5x the cost of the 8x32 Conquest HD?

Put another way: you are saying the $25 pair and the SF have the Exact same dof and by definition it is all in focus? No matter how horrible optics are?

Is the 8x32 Victory SF really worth almost 2.5x the cost of the 8x32 Conquest HD?

Dramatically different for me. So a $25 pair of 8x32s will have the same amount of depth of field in focus as a pair of SFs although the amount of fov in focus will be dramatically different? I find that hard to believe especially with my experiences. Will try it with a $25 pair soon.

Is the 8x32 Victory SF really worth almost 2.5x the cost of the 8x32 Conquest HD?

Lee please try this since you have both. Focus on an object about 50 meters out with plenty of other objects nearby in front and behind. Now look at the objects in front and behindwith both the Conquest and SF. Do they both have the objects in front and behind in Focus for an equal distance or...

Is the 8x32 Victory SF really worth almost 2.5x the cost of the 8x32 Conquest HD?

Yes Lee. I absolutely know this! I also know that some parts of fov are in focus and some are not and the same holds true for dof. Not sure why people here can’t quite understand that distinction! It’s very obvious to me comparing different binos. Somehow a lot of the the dof in a Conquest is...

Is the 8x32 Victory SF really worth almost 2.5x the cost of the 8x32 Conquest HD?

BTW. The reason I’ve owned three pairs is that I SO wanted them to work for. I love that Zeiss makes extended eyecups as they make all the difference in fitting my face the way I like. Unfortunately they don’t solve the focus problem. BTW I love the eyecups. Yes they are a tiny bit difficult to...

Is the 8x32 Victory SF really worth almost 2.5x the cost of the 8x32 Conquest HD?

What I mean Lee is they are incredibly hard to get in focus in the first place. Then when I look for or aft the slightest bit everything is out of focus. Constantly fiddling with focus would be a better way to describe this. I attribute this to very little of the depth of focus being in focus...

Is the 8x32 Victory SF really worth almost 2.5x the cost of the 8x32 Conquest HD?

I know the Conquests are highly regarded here and obviously by you as well. I’ve owned three copies and they were all hard to keep in focus and I eliminated the focus speed as the problem. Looked through the SFs and no such problem for me. I only wish they were within my budget! I’d go for it...
