    Thanks John. I should say that you can still buy a railway pass in Switzerland, but I wasn't there for long enough for it to make sense financially.

    Hi Richard. Attached I've got a photo of a hybrid and a photo of one apparent Italian Sparrow. If you check sightings on ebird for the Zermatt area there are quite a lot of Italian Sparrow sightings, plus it features in several other trip reports I've read. best, Jonathan
