You don't even have to wipe it off. One pair I wiped, the other pair I didn't. Doesn't really matter, it comes off and is not a problem. -

Your pair looks similar to what I received as far as residue. The residue came off by itself after using them a few times. I still think it’s just a result of off gassing while sitting in a box. I should get my replacement pair next week from Zeiss. -

The quality control is a little disappointing but to be honest I don’t think I could tell there was a problem looking through the binoculars, only looking at them. And that is part of the reason I didn’t notice these issues right away. I looked through them and not at them when testing. Only... -

Just an update on my second pair of Zeiss 8x32 SF binoculars that were sent to KY-USA for service. The first pair I sent in for service had a haze on the right eyepiece that could not be cleaned from the surface and the eyepiece was replaced as a result. Everything seemed to come back OK. This... -

I wrote about it in another post in the Swarovski sub, basically I liked the NL image a little better but the SF was more resistant to condensation on the eyepieces, more resistant to glare, better balance and better focuser. The eyepiece fogging issue was the biggest problem. SF was a better... -

I thought about getting a different 3rd pair but the Zeiss SF 8x32 really meet my needs. I had also tried the Leica 8x32 but they were too small to hold easily. I will send an update when I get the other pair back. -

I have 3 pair of 8x32 SF. The two that were factory sealed had the white powdery coating that comes off with use. The one pair that didn't have the coating I assume was because it had been handled as it was not factory sealed. I thought the white coating was from off-gassing, but not really...
