    Yes, I said that there is a twig/branch running through the bird where the eye appears, so it really can't be the eye. Leaf makes sense too ...

    It's a hard photo - what is what in the foreground, background or midground? Guess it's heavily zoomed in with the bird on dead branches in the foreground, across a bit of a valley/dip with trees in the background? Would be interesting to see more blurry photos/wider angle of the area...

    Can't get away from bird in image #1 being a large bird - Common Buzzard for preference (or possibly Goshawk or even other large raptor). Can't quite make into an owl myself. Agree with possible Sparrowhawk on image 2- we can safely rule out Ostrich here on habitat/location? EDIT: Image #1 -...
