    Bird of prey identification in Somerset

    Hi Lucy and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators. Yes, that bird is quite definitely a Common Buzzard. Their plumage is very variable, but they all have that pale band across the lower breast (see this picture) which is visible in your one too. I'm sure you will enjoy it...
