    That would be the common sense way to go, if retailers had a few on hand/demo/option to buy, however this is not out there really too often, if at all. Nothing wrong with purchasing Leica certified demos, but one has to hunt for them.

    They are both about the same as depth of field goes. The focus on both is smooth, with the Noctivid having a slightly quicker focus. I am not adverse to CA, so I really cannot comment on that.

    All based on your opinion, I much prefer the FL and SLC 10X56 or the Leica UV HD+ and EL SV 10X50, they provide much better views to my eyes day or night than any 10X42, and I have tried them all.

    While the NL 8X42 is the latest and for some the greatest, I really enjoy the NV 8X42 and the UV 8X42, and were the NL not to have the wide FOV, I would have already sold it, I use it as much at night for astro as the day.     I have both the UV HD 8X42 and Noctivid 8X42, while the Noctivid is ahead on the optics, I find find the UV HD wins in the handling ergonomic department, it packs like a large 8X32 to me. Andy W.
