Do folks think the Ultravid HD+ 8x32 is on par with the Zeiss SF or Swaro EL 8x32s?

My 7x42 UVHD are tack sharp. They are so sharp that I feel like I see just as much detail as with lesser 8x like the Nikon MHG 8x42. In fact all Leicas I've used have excelled in sharpness. The Trinovid BR 10x42 was very sharp, and my wife's 8x32 UVHD is maybe the sharpest binocular I've...

Do folks think the Ultravid HD+ 8x32 is on par with the Zeiss SF or Swaro EL 8x32s?

One of these days I need to actually OWN the 8x33 model. The one I had was the 10x33, and I may find the more "relaxed" view of the 8x33 with the larger exit pupil and wider FOV more forgiving. But, yes, they are probably THE most comfortable binoculars I've used in terms of "hand fit/feel"...

Do folks think the Ultravid HD+ 8x32 is on par with the Zeiss SF or Swaro EL 8x32s?

It’s funny, but the “analytical” binoculars “feel” sharper even though they aren’t. Conquest HD vs EDG (10x32), the Conquest just feels so CRISP. You’d swear it’s sharper, the warmer more saturated EDG imparts a “softer” feel, but if you compare objectively they are basically equal in...

Do folks think the Ultravid HD+ 8x32 is on par with the Zeiss SF or Swaro EL 8x32s?

Interesting you say that -- I've noted elsewhere that something about the saturated, contrasty Leica view just feels "deep" and and vivid, whereas a lot of the Kamakura glass feels more "clinical" or "analytical". I assume you mean the same thing when you say "technical", and I also think it's...

Do folks think the Ultravid HD+ 8x32 is on par with the Zeiss SF or Swaro EL 8x32s?

Interesting comments, and I largely agree! Especially agree that once you get to the ~$1K+ price point, it's all really good glass and your subjective preferences will be more important than any tiny objective differences in optics. Like you say, it's not "resolution"; using 7-10x...

Do folks think the Ultravid HD+ 8x32 is on par with the Zeiss SF or Swaro EL 8x32s?

I commented on your other post as well.... I've never heard anyone complain about "narrow FOV" other than in the context of the short eye relief (e.g. using glasses and not being able to see the full FOV). The FOV is close to 8° (7.7° spec, Allbinos measured 7.8°) so barely smaller than that...

Do folks think the Ultravid HD+ 8x32 is on par with the Zeiss SF or Swaro EL 8x32s?

You'll get a lot of opinions I'm sure, and to be honest I have NOT looked through the Zeiss SF yet. However I have plenty of experience with the Leica UVHD 8x32 and the Swaro EL 8x32. And I've looked through the SF 42mm, and used enough binoculars that I can make an educated extrapolation...
