    Not quite that bad, but in addition to size you also need to look at shape. On your photo, the upper edge of the culmen is almost straight and the bill is much longer than it is high. For medium ground finch as I remember it, the bill has to have a curved culmen, it is still longer than it is...

    Just a word of caution: on some of the larger islands, populations of Medium ground finch exist that have two different sizes of bills. Niels
