A pretty good review, but why no mention of the super easy accurate manual function? In a later review maybe? Just done some tests using just JPEG and the buffer time is about 3 secs after a burst of 7. I don't use Raw and certainly don't use Raw and JPEG together. I would have liked to... -

All my shots are JPEG, rarely need to "fix" any shots, but I only view them on a pc or print up to A4. There is a sometimes useful in camera fix if a bit underexposed, and of course you can crop in camera. I know I have said this before, but you can't really compare the 1000 with any other... -

Hi Louis, re the "buffer problem" it is/was all down to my impatience. Trying to fire off a second burst to soon. Doesn't happen now as I am aware that there is a short delay after firing off a burst of 7, and generally only fire off 2 or 3 shots. I also had the same "problem" with my P900 :)... -

Martin, most pics are handheld, the VR is extremely effective. Neil’s, for example, if I use the Bird or Auto setting in good light, then most pics will be at about 1/200, OK but if I set the shutter speed to 1/1000 and take the same pic then the pics are sharper. I almost always do a... -

Niels, seems to have sharpened all my shots. I definitely move the camera when pressing the shutter. This can be seen when I take a burst, which I do most of the time. A burst of 7 shots shows this movement quite clearly as “upward to the left” This does not happen when using a tripod or fixed... -

Thank you kind sir, Most of the 20 are good shots as well. Sun shone from behind me, Owl performed well and camera did its job. Straightforward Bird setting 800mm,no messing about with the settings. Maybe next time I will zoom out just a bit more to about 1000 or 1200. Den -

Stephen, looks like 6.3 on some of my pics. 5.6 at 1800 as well and in sun today 7.1 at 2400 Had a play with the Aperture settings and I was getting f5 at 500mm, f5.6 at 1000mm, f6.3 at 2000mm and f7.1 at 2600mm. finally f8 at 3000mm. Got the same with auto setting and bird setting... -
