    Well, Nancy, I think much of this is just hot air or a feature of email chat that can be difficult to interpret properly. You'd be very - very - welcome and enjoy every minute of birdng in England, I am sure.

    Argh! Another teacher. There're too many of us in this thread... Idiots? Hmmm. Funny really - I met a couple of young 'birders' at Eyebrook today who seemed to think I was an idiot. You meet them. We had a good day's birding, all the same.

    Made me smile... "God! Such people are so judgmental"... No point telling Him is there - He's surely the most judgmental of all! But I'll be with you - middle aged with those Swaros round my neck... with my wife (a dudette).

    Having spent much of my life in such business decision making processes, it seems to me that some of us just can't accept the mostly serendipitous and subjective nature of human decision making and will do all we can to give it the appearance of cool and calculated objectivity. Ah well...
