    Review, Leupold Mojave BX-3 8x32

Bob, I guess you and Bill are right about the earlier version of the models in question. The newer Kahles 8x42 I tried had field curvature and pincushion and no ED glass so I don't imagine would do particularly well in the Allbinos scoring scheme either. However, view wise it seemed very...

    Review, Leupold Mojave BX-3 8x32

I've only tried the current 8x42 (post 2012?) Kahles. No "Made in **** " anywhere to be seen, so who knows where that one was assembled but the glass looked very European to me. Seemed very different from the Vortex Viper HD from what I remember. I've been told the old version was Kamakura. David

    Review, Leupold Mojave BX-3 8x32

Frank, That pre production baby M7 I tried I really liked a lot. It reminded me of the EII. Not it's equal, but small, waterproof and pocketable which count as a big plus for me. However I tried it was in the shade of a marquee so I'm apprehensive about commenting on glare and it's something I...

    Review, Leupold Mojave BX-3 8x32

Steve, I'd missed that post by Jan. It seems a bit odd that when Kite's owner was emphasising the points of 'superiority' of the Lynx to the M7 he didn't mention the country of manufacture. David

    Review, Leupold Mojave BX-3 8x32

Steve, It was a Nikon representative that told me that the M7 x30s were made in a different factory to the x42s. It was George de Putter of Kite who claimed the shared development and differentiating options for the Lynx. Gijs, Jan and possibly others have mentioned that the Kite Japanese made...

    Review, Leupold Mojave BX-3 8x32

Phil, Thanks for the reassurance. From what I've seen there is so much to like about the M7 I'd be content to forgive a small niggle, particularly in a binocular this price. (It's much more irritating in a $1600 model. ;) ) Figured it would be ideal for hiking and travelling. It could be there...

    Review, Leupold Mojave BX-3 8x32

Frank, Many thanks for posting your comparison. Although a couple of places have the Mojave 10x32 I can't find the 8x32 on sale in the UK. Opticron don't offer a Countryman HD 10x32. I wonder if the Mojave 8x32 is too close to the Opticron to be sold here? The Monarch 7 made a big impression...

    Review, Leupold Mojave BX-3 8x32

Frank, Thanks for the images. Side by side the Mojave and the Opticron appear to have points of similarity like, the dioptre adjustment, but quite different in other ways. Look forward to your comments on how the view compares. Putting the Monarch 7 in the mix adds some spice. I've still only...

    Review, Leupold Mojave BX-3 8x32

Steve, Is that a 'new age' design? Must have got my ley lines crossed. ;) Still the x32 doesn't look quite as bad as the x42s! I have to say the rather conservative design of the Opticron is more to my taste. Sorry, I'd missed your comment on the weight. Still a useful difference in my book...

    Review, Leupold Mojave BX-3 8x32

Steve, I should apologise for not thanking you earlier for the excellent review. I'm not sure where Leupold is coming from with their current 'styling' but I confess the look of the Mojave doesn't do it for me. It's a make we rarely see over here and I suppose I prematurely dismissed for...
