Chiffchaff? (1 Viewer)

Apologies in advance if this is a really basic question.

I took a few snaps of this bird in our garden this morning, thinking it was a Chiffchaff. But now I look at the pictures I'm not sure it seems a lot "yellower" especially on the front, than the other Chiffchaff(s) I've seen round our garden in East Staffs this year - so could it be a Willow Warbler? I've not heard any Willow Warblers round us at all this year, so this would be a first for 2008.

I've looked at my field guide but can't make up my mind whether it's a Chiffchaff or Willow Warbler, though I favour Chiffchaff slightly. Didnt hear the bird call while it was in the garden, it seems to be feeding on insects in the flowers on the shrub, and briefly on the lawn.

Thanks in anticipation. John
