Nocturnal chirping bird, New Jersey (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

Sorry if this is not the right forum for this, but I was hoping someone could help identify this animal. I think it's a bird, though I haven't actually seen it myself. It's somewhere in a tree just outside my bedroom window. During summer nights such as tonight, it makes constant noise, usually three (sometimes two) harsh chirps in quick succession, over and over again. I live in central New Jersey. Does anyone know what this is?

Thanks in advance for your help!
