It took me a while to understand what position bird #3 was in, but now I see it clearly that it is looking down, and the whole crown is visible. I think the clearly paler surround to the black bib and eyebrow favours Lesser best.

1. Agree with Wallace's Hawk Eagle - wing length, tail pattern, scaly back.

2. Greater Racket-tailed - Lesser not present on Borneo.

3. The two Leafbirds are best separated by size (GGB is appreciably larger) and, if paired up, looking at the females (female GGB has yellow throat). The race of LGB found on Borneo, nominate cyanopogon, has little yellow surrounding the throat or on the forehead. I don't think that either the paler surround to the throat patch or brow is a valid distinction. Neither of the two birds in these images, for example, show these features.

If anything, I would slightly favour Lesser for this bird as the black mask doesn't seem to extend above and behind the eye as it does in the above image of Greater, and the bill looks a little straight and lacks much of a hook, but I'm far from sure. The similarity of the birds in the images above show the difficulty of separation.

4. Agree with Large Woodshrike - no other present.

Thanks for putting me straight with the leafbirds. Cyanopogon from Borneo really looks different (and if I have checked Robson I'd have seen that :eat: )
