I'm getting towards the end of my photos of my trip to India and am coming towards the end of my ID questions which I'm sure will be a relief for you.

This is probably the penultimate batch, hopefully. Best guesses:
1. Maybe some kind of Bunting?
2. Woolly-necked Stork
3. ?
4. Bronze-winged Jacanas
5. ?

Apologies for the poor quality images on some of these.
TIA

Andy

Without a book,
1. Siberian Stonechat
2. yes
3. another Stonechat
4. yes
5. one of those Citrine wagtails, but I must admit I am confused anytime I see the variety on offer in the Indian bird guides, I guess it's a calcarata (black-backed) but not sure.

Thank you both.

Probably coming to the final hurdle perhaps!:
1. ?
2. I can't identify the species of Kingfisher. It does look very green.
3. Sorry, not much to go on!
4. Grey-headed Lapwing?
5. A Shrike of some sort?

TIA
Andy

Hopefully to finish off:

7. Another Raptor;
8. Alexandrine Parakeet.

TIA
Andy

1. long-tailed shrike;
2. the bird on your profile :)
3. looks like a great cormorant ssp sinensis
4. yes
5. a shrike. Not 100% sure, thinking about Grey-backed but would have to check literature.
second post:
1. a bit confusing without size reference, my first impression was Oriental Hobby. But not sure if it occurs there in winter (supposed this is photographed a short while ago)?
2. looks good for Pallas's Fish Eagle
3. yes

Thank you both.

Probably coming to the final hurdle perhaps!:

1, Long-tailed Shrike
2 Stork-billed
4 Correct

That ain't no Stork-billed, Andy!

The Shrike in no.5 in the second set looks like 1st-winter Grey-backed, as Temmie says.

#3 is a Little Cormorant.

edit: #6 maybe juv Peregrine Falcon (Shaheen)

Thanks for the correction, I agree with the Cormorant, a bit confusing for me without size reference but I forgot about Little, only thought about great or Indian and missing the yellow bill for the latter.

I am not (yet) convinced about that falcon but have to check some books for variation within Peregrine.

Here is a less-cropped image of the raptor, which hopefully gives a better sense of size.

TIA
Andy

These are really the final two. Seen in late October this year. I suspect they are Black Kites but would appreciate confirmation or otherwise.

Many thanks,

Andy
