10,000 swifts, 1 chimney (1 Viewer)

Hello there and a warm welcome to you from those of us on staff here at BirdForum :t:

An amazing video and yes Jan, the chimney swifts are known for this as well.

There was once an episode of one of those true-life-cop-dramas when a patrol car was called out to a domestic residence which had been chosen for the night by swifts on migration.

Unfortunately, many of the birds (seemed also to be Vaux's and there were hundreds in the flock) tumbled right down the chimney into the house, with predictable slapstick chaos as a result.

Highly annoying for the house-owners, but still quite funny and fascinating behavior.
