My wife found this orchid in our back garden. I wonder if anyone would kindly tell us what species it is.

more than likely it is
Common spotted-orchid Dactylorhiza fuchsii but the pic is a bit unclear and i dont pretend to be expert just interested in them.
 
We tried to get a sharper pic. But the overnight rain has not improved its appearance! Whatever it is, it's a nice surprise after living at this address for 15 years.

it was more that my eyes are going ... my photos tend to be much worse
