Tree Sparrows! (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I'm new here. I am totally sick of tree sparrows taking over my feeders, especially my hanging 12"x12" platform feeder. I prefer that one best because my hopper feeder isn't big enough for cardinals, jays, etc. How can I deter these sparrows? I see house sparrows here and there, but these tree sparrows are the real problem. They are aggressive and territorial with the feeders, but not so much when a bigger bird decides to ignore them. That aside, they are such a deterrent to other birds who want and need to feed. Is there a such thing as a feeder halo for hanging platform feeders? What else can I do aside from a halo? Thank you!

At least you're not getting grackles. In my yard when they take over the feeder the other birds clear out. I stand by hitting the window to get them to leave, they get the hint after a few swipes at the window pane.
