Upgrade to a D300? (1 Viewer)

Yes thats upgrade The D300s plus 18-105 mm is probably a bit much for the UCA even if you didn't get vignetting with the zoom lens ( which you will ). In AF mode the lens will bump up against the UCA when zooming. You can test it out though by setting it up on a table and sliding the camera up to the eyepiece.
I'm using second hand 24/28/35/50 mm Nikon lenses with the Panasonic Lumix G1 with good results. I find the best focal length to be the 24/2.8 which has a 52 mm thread if you have a DCA adapter but will fit on the UCA when reversed.
