eany meany miney mo... ;)

ok ive chosen the best :t:

When you've voted, take a look at the entries that have so far yet to score -they're still really great photos! Just shows how difficult it is to choose.

what a tough competition fantastic to see so many great images it is an honour to be included in such company. Good luck to all.

Hi Ian

I like the Photo comps and will be uploading a image for the next comp
in September but it seems to me with all the members here on the birdforum
that you only get a few hundred voting if you were to look at the links
to the Photo comp and the voting booth i am sure you would get more
members joining in there should be a link to the Comp on the main page
and a link to the voting booth there and or a better banner to get more
involved what do you think

We used to have a bar along the top showing that voting was in progress, but quite a lot of members did not like it so it was done away with.

I'm glad to hear that you enjoy the competitions :t:

Voting numbers have never been that high. From last month we've added a banner for the competition at the top of each page - though it does look a little like one of the advertisements it alternates with - which I'm sure many simply ignore. Likewise the gallery has a permanent banner as well. This will be the first complete month they've been in place - so it will be interesting to see whether voting numbers are any higher.

At the end of the day photos aren't everyones cup of tea, I'm that many members have no interest at all in the competitions. It's a feature for members to enjoy if they wish.

My photo was selected to be in the top 30. Although I don't expect to win the contest, I still have won by being recognized by the selection committee, and I am honored. These find photographs in the group compel me to keep working on my skills. As Robert Browning wrote, "A man's reach should exceed his grasp." (P.S. Pertains to all genders.) Congratulations, too, to my fellow photographers. Good work, all.

Gosh loved the pictures. They are all stunning. o:)

I would not have known what to choose at all.

By the way I will congratulate all people on their efforts here.

;)

Well, I finally made up my mind. All of you should be congratulated for the outstanding images submitted. Very hard choice, but..............

Announcing the winners -

Some excellent entries this month making it very difficult to choose just one winner. It was also nice to see every entry attracting at least one vote.

From the 84 entries 30 were selected for inclusion in the voting booth. 183 members cast their vote.

The outright winner was

LisaW with Jedi Hummers which attracted 18/183 votes.

2nd place

safariranger with Martial Eagle with 16/183 votes - BTW Happy Birthday Robert for yesterday :t:

Joint third with 14/183 votes were

mali with Peregrine Fly Past
and
scottishdude with Air to air combat

Congratulations to each of you :t:

Entries will remain in place a few days before being moved to their respective forums.

Conratulations Lisa, Robert, Mali and Jamie. A really close contest this time and congratulations to the remainder who all got a vote.

Congratulations Lisa, stunning entry, I think it has been the toughest competition so far. And well done to Safariranger and Mali too

I would also like to say a big thankyou everyone who voted for me, your cheques are in the post ;-) !!

As for the puffing picture, it is decoarting my daughter's school folder now. She sponsored a puffin in Maine for a year.

First of all, well done to all of the winners here.

Puffin: That was the one I voted for here. Now it has slipped out. ;)

It is good that your daughter loves the picture too, and it shows she is a fan of this bird. Well done to her for sponsoring a Puffin as she has. o:)

I never thought of using a Puffin photo, or lots of them, for decorating a school folder though - good idea.:t: .

I feel very humble at the moment. Thanks to all who voted for my Jedi Hummers. When I saw the quality of photos for this months competition I didn't even think of making the top 30 let alone winning. Robert's Martial Eagle was exquisite. Mali's and Jamie's photos were perfect.
Jamie, I think you owe me a check - put it in the mail soon.;)
