Pipit, Southern India, January 15 (1 Viewer)

This pipit was seen near Masinagudi, close to Mudumalai National Park in Tamil Nadu, Southern India in January. The dark lores and rather plain upperparts make it a Tawny Pipit for me. However, as Mudumalai is obviously the southernmost place for this species in India, I would like to have confirmation (or arguments for another species of course, like Long-billed Pipit).

Thanks
André

Hi Mark,

Thanks for pointing that out. After crawling through the OBC Image Database I agree with you. I'm used to id pipits in India on call, however this one was in mute modus....
