As always I’m having a little trouble confirming the identity of some of the photos I took, this time on a recent visit to Nth Greece. As usual the raptors are a particular problem ! The locations of each are in the file names but most are from Lake Kerkini or Prespa Lakes. Any help much appreciated !
Thanks
Tony

1-2 Peregrine ? Would have loved it to be an Eleanora’s as they were in the vicinity but the barring on the belly seems to run the wrong way (bands rather than stripes?). But do peregrines have the buff colour on the belly ?
3-5. Presumably honey buzzard ?

6-7. With the upturned bill, could this be a distant Terek Sandpiper ? They are occasionally seen at this site.
8. My guide said this was a lesser spotted eagle. Correct ?
9. The consensus on the boat at Lake Kerkini was that this was a lesser spotted eagle. Correct ?
10. Pretty confident this is a booted eagle ?

16-25 – Are these all common buzzards or is there anything more interesting amongst them ? The variety of colour and pattern for buzzards is so frustrating !!!!

Confusingly I had numbered the files themselves so I expect it is the file which is named 17 but happened to be the 16th file due to one of the files refusing to load for an unknown reason ! File #13 has now decided to upload so the file called 17 IS now the 17th file uploaded too. Sorry to confuse anyone !

Thanks Lou. Yes very happy that's a Terek. Shame the peregrine is just a peregrine and the buzzards are all buzzards (except #17) but that's not unusual !
