anyone know where would be the closest place (from los angeles) to view
a sandhill crane? I've seen them in agricultural fields over by Blythe, but don't feel like driving that far again.
I assume there's a good spot near the Salton Sea???

Sonny Bono Unit 1 in Salton Sea is reliable (two tries, two successes). I hear Carrizo Plain is also good but no experience there.
